This little bear free amigurumi pattern is easy for anyone to make, whether you're a beginner or have been crocheting for years. He's soft, measures about 10.5 inches tall, and there are no small parts to worry about, so he's perfect for a child of any age! My little bear is always ready for playtime, and loves cuddles during naps and at bedtime.

If you've never heard of amigurumi, no worries...it's just a fancy Japanese word for knitted or crocheted stuffed animals. A complicated-sounding word for an adorable toy that you can make at home!
This Little Bear free amigurumi crochet pattern uses the magic circle/ring and single crochet, including increases (inc) and decreases (dec). Easy peasy! And if you need a reminder for how to make a half-double crochet, or increase/decrease, check the “Notes” section for links to my video tutorials. We will also crochet in the round, as is the case in most amigurumi projects.
⭐ Note about this pattern's tutorial
The head and body will be crocheted together as one piece. Then, the arms, legs, and ears will be crocheted separately. At the end of the pattern, you'll use a yarn needle to sew the arms, legs, and ears onto the body (there is no tutorial for this part...it's just a simple running stitch, like with regular sewing). Likewise, as you may want different eye, nose, and mouth shapes than I have done, there is no tutorial for the face. Using a yarn needle and black yarn, create some back-and-forth stitches to build up the yarn thicker, in any design you like. 🙂
🧶 Materials
- Approximately 1 skein of #4/worsted weight yarn (any color you like, as well as black yarn for facial features)
- D-3 / 3.25-mm hook
- FiberFil stuffing
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
📏 Finished size
Little Bear measures approximately 10.5″ tall in a seated position.
