Can I get a Hallelujah, can I get an Amen! It's strawberry season again! And what better way to enjoy this amazingly juicy, sweet fruit than in a strawberry cocktail (and mocktail) that's super refreshing and thirst-quenching on a hot sunny day. To me, strawberries are summertime personified.....fruitified? Berrified?

Did you know that the strawberry isn't actually a berry...but bananas are? Say whaaaaat?! Botanically speaking, strawberries are actually called an "aggregate fruit" and are not "true berries." Well how about that...who knew? See, you do learn something new every day.
Berry, fruit, whatever...I don't care what you call them, they're delicious.
When I was a child, my mother used to take my sister and I out to the pick-your-own strawberry fields. There, we'd happily spend a couple hours, low to the ground, rummaging through the green leaves of the plant, looking for a plump, juicy, red berry. Oooohhh, mom's not looking...and I'd pop another strawberry in my mouth. OMG, soooooo good.
I still love strawberries in any form, whether it's just a few berries on a plate with a mountain of homemade whipped cream on top or my strawberry shortcake waffles on a Sunday morning. But on a hot summer evening, nothing beats a refreshing strawberry cocktail.
Erich and I worked very hard trying different flavor combinations and taste-testing every...single...one. Then tweaking the recipe a little and taste testing again, and again.
After lots of trial and error *hiccup* π€£, we've created a thirst-quenching strawberry cocktail for you to enjoy...and a virgin strawberry mojito too!

I tried the slushie and my wife wanted the mojito, so we made both, with mint from our garden in the mojito. They were both delicious, thanks!
