Applesauce & Apple Butter - Your Recipes for the Beginning of Fall
Fall has finally arrived! It’s the season of cool breezes in the air, comfy jackets, and colorful leaves crunching under our feet. It’s also the time of year for apples! And what better way to start the season than with applesauce and apple butter.

- 8 to 10 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into 1” pieces
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- Dash of nutmeg
Applesauce
Peel, core, and chop apples and place in slow cooker.

Add remaining ingredients and toss well with apples.
½ teaspoon cinnamon, ¾ cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, Dash of nutmeg
Cover slow cooker and cook on high for about 2-½ hours. That’s it!
Apple Butter
Peel, core, and chop apples and place in slow cooker.
8 to 10 medium apples, peeled, cored, and chopped into 1” pieces
Add remaining ingredients and toss well with apples. Cover slow cooker and cook on high for about 9 hours.
½ teaspoon cinnamon, ¾ cup granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons lemon juice, Dash of nutmeg
Scoop out apple butter and place in a narrow container or small saucepan. Using an immersion blender, blend apple butter until smooth. Enjoy!
Apple butter will stay good in a closed container in the fridge for several weeks.
