This is, By Far, The Best French Bread Pizza You'll Ever Taste

The words French Bread Pizza have always elicited feelings of excitement and almost giddy anticipation of mouthwatering flavor.  It’s such a quick & easy dinner and I guarantee this recipe will be the best you’ve ever tasted!

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf French or Italian bread
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped into small pieces
  • 8 oz block mozzarella, thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves garlic, finely grated
  • 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 leaves fresh basil, torn into small pieces
  • Oregano
  • Salt & pepper
  • Your favorite pizza toppings

Instructions

  • Preheat toaster oven to 375℉.
  • The secret to this recipe is the garlic sauce.  Grate three cloves of garlic, using the fine side of a cheese grater. Heat 3 tablespoon oil in a pan over low heat.  Saute grated garlic for 20-30 seconds.  Don’t let it burn!  Nothing ruins a dish like burned garlic.  Immediately remove pan from heat.
  • Cut loaf of French or Italian bread into 6-inch-long sections, then slice in half lengthwise.  Brush garlic oil all over the top of each slice, cut side up, making sure to include the finely grated garlic (not just the oil).
  • Top each slice of bread with tomatoes and season with salt & pepper.  You can either add the oregano and garlic now, or wait to sprinkle them on top of the cheese.  I tried both ways…and they’re both delicious.
  • Add toppings of your choice (sauteed mushrooms, pepperoni, ham, pineapple, anchovies, etc).
  • Place thin slices of mozzarella on top of everything and sprinkle with oregano and basil.
  • Place pizzas directly on the toaster oven rack and bake for 15 minutes or until cheese is melted and just slightly browned.  To catch any cheesy drips in the oven, place a foil-lined baking sheet on the rack underneath.
  • Top pizzas with additional fresh basil and enjoy!
