Homemade Shower Cleaner (for a sparkling shower in just 15 minutes!)

By 3 m read

Homemade shower cleaner Do you have hard water in your home?

Are you tired of unsightly soap scum and hard water stains in your shower?

Have you tried everything to clean your shower but nothing works?

Does this sound like an infomercial?

Don’t worry, this is not an infomercial, but I am going to show you how to make your shower sparkle in just 15 minutes with my homemade shower cleaner!

Hard Water/Soap Scum?

Here in the ville, our water supply is from a well, so it’s definitely hard water. Over the years, it seemed like our shower tiles, doors, and fixtures were constantly covered in a milky film of hard water and soap scum. Cleaning it was like a strenuous workout, stretching and scrubbing and huffing and puffing. I was exhausted from doing this on a regular basis, and even after all that hard work, it never really got sparkling clean.

So, I turned to those spray and rinse products we’ve all seen in the supermarket. I happily sprayed the chemicals all throughout the shower and waited the instructed amount of time. I then returned to the bathroom, rinsed it all off, and waited for it to dry, hoping for a miracle to happen. Well folks, I got nothing, nada, zip. The shower was just as grimy as it was before.

Can you tell me how to clean the shower easily? Yes!

Now I’m here to tell you that I’ve found the solution! Hallelujah! It’s so easy, no chemicals involved, and you won’t even break a sweat! You can make your shower sparkle in just 15 minutes with my homemade shower cleaner! And to top it all off, even here in the ville, where the water is so hard there are practically rocks coming out of the faucet, the shower stays sparkling clean for a month! Are you ready?

Homemade Shower Cleaner Supplies

Get yourself a spray bottle, some Dawn soap, a bottle of white vinegar, and a sponge (one with a soft side and a “scrubby” side). That’s it! I know what you’re thinking…this sounds too good to be true.  Stay with me and you’ll see that it absolutely is true!

Mix a half-and-half mixture of the Dawn soap and white vinegar in a spray bottle. I like to use Dawn Platinum for extra cleaning power.  As an option, you can always add any essential oil you like for a pleasant smell.

Now, roll up your sleeves, step into the shower, and get ready to make your shower sparkle! Using the shower head, lightly wet the walls and doors with water, and then spray on your homemade Heavy Duty Shower Cleaner. Scrub with your sponge, making sure to get all areas. Understand that when I say scrub, I mean a normal scrubbing, not that break-into-a-sweat nonsense you’ve been doing for years.

Work your way around the shower, rinsing off each door or wall as you finish it.  As a finishing touch, you can then squeegee to help remove all the water.

You can now put on your sunglasses and get ready to witness some serious sparkle!

That’s it, that’s all there is to it! Really! Give it a try and let me know how it worked for you.
